The Work Goes On!

Another week! Let's get into it! :)

Monday:

Pday! played some vball, went shopping, talked to the fam! That consisted of most of the day. For proselytizing hours we went to visit some referalls and got rejected but found a lady who wants to be rebaptized so that was awesome! We then went to a members house to see if he had any referalls for us and literally referred us the whole street lol (he knows everyone) we also met a couple, Jordan + Jordan who moved here from Oklahoma to start their own church so that was actually a really cool conversation!

Tuesday:

We got a referall from someone who's friend wanted to meet with the missionaries so we were able to set up a time to meet with them. Later we found out that we're not allowed to meet at their house since it's a home for single men that need help (from what i understood) We rescheduled at the church for a later time with some more members but when that time came around they said they couldn't meet because we couldn't come to their house...sus...throughout this week the guy we were trying to meet with also kept texting us random stuff like news articles and screens shots of his Disney plus so that was weird. His new name is Creepy guy nate but we handed them off to the elders so maybe they can help. We knocked doors on that whole street we got referred to yesterday and left carnival invites to those that didn't answer. We had 4 lessons scheduled for the rest of the day and they all went pretty well except Ashish. He canceled his baptism! NOO. So sad. But we're still meeting with him so hopefully he'll want to be committed soon enough!

Wednesday:

Met with sis Hubert again and met some more neighbors! So fun! Had 4 more lessons today but 1 ended up canceling. We met up with the lady from Monday (jaime) and is super ready to be baptized so we're super excited for her! Our other lessons went well too and I was finally able to meet some more of our friends! They're all so awesome! There was also a stake relief society activity that night. We took our friends Teresa + Natalie and that was so fun! Utahians really go all out for their stake activities and it's awesome! After that we went back to Teresa's house for a lesson. We went over the promises she makes when she's baptized! She's getting baptized next Saturday! YAY

Thursday:

Busy day! We had pre zone conference on zoom and talked about car + bike safety and other health stuff. Then we had the new missionary follow up meeting we did some activities which were fun and a training from president Spencer which was really good. He shared a scripture which talked about how God LITERALLY called us missionaries to a specific place and time and that was really cool to think about. We had 2 lessons that night! One with ayden who's getting baptized sep 23 and then one with paul who's now going to be baptized in october! Then for our last hour we visited a members house to get referalls we were able to play our atonement game with their grandkids which was fun!

Friday:

Transfer interview day! For transfer interviews we have our interview with President and then we go on a little walk with Sister Spencer to talk. we then have a training from the ap's and it was all really fun. I was also able to pick up my mail which is my favorite thing ever! We then had a sister join us for our lessons that day who got her call to the Philippines I believe. So cool!

Okay so story time: Most days we decided to visit members from 8pm-9 to get referalls. So we decided to visit a sister in one of our wards but accidentally went to the wrong house. we decided to stay and share a message even though they were kinda sketch people. They were very nice tho and asked lots of hard questions luckily the spirit came through and sis heckert was able to answer all of them to their satisfaction which was a really amazing experience. We were able to give them some pamphlets and even tho we left their house smelling like smoke + weed is was still a pretty spiritual experience :))

Saturday:

We went to help the asl sisters with some service which was super fun even tho we ended up not doing much because there were SO many members helping. We helped a lady move some stuff in her house because she's going to renovate it. Her favorite color is orange and it shows. her whole house LITERALLY all of it was orange. It was so cute haha. We had district council today too where we discussed the imlortance of using the book of mormon in our lessons with our friends. In the evening there was a stake carnival and like I mentioned before they go all out for their stake activities and it was a lot of fun! We invited lots of our friends and literally streets of people so it was awesome when we saw them there! We also helped with the snow cone booth which is a very messy job but it was fun haha

Sunday:

We went to 3 wards to make sure our friends were going to church then had a lesson during lunch with laurena and Kaleb. The member made us more food which was so so good. She's the best. We had 6 lessons sunday so we were veryyyy busy running around like crazy woman but had some awesome spiritual moments as well! We also had friends who are interested in going to general conference (big worldwide meeting where the prophets and apostles speak) with us so that's exciting!

Randoms:

-this week I got my card to sign into our car. So now I can drive! Pray for me though because I've never driven in snow before or cold weather in general haha.

-I made my mom's recipe of Quiche and it turned out pretty good so yay!

Spiritual moment:

A scripture we share a lot with our friends is Moroni 10:4-5

And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

I love this scripture because it says that if you really want to know truth you can find out by praying with a sincere heart, intent and faith and you can know all things by the holy ghost!

We invite our friends who we're teaching to do this so that they can know of the truth themselves and develop a testimony of the gospel! We love hearing their experiences which also strengthens my testimony! If you have doubts ask God and turn to divine resources for help and "ye may know the truth of all things" :))

Love and miss you all!

Sis laws :)
