Merry Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS MY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ! !
This week was pretty chill as no one wanted to talk to us or have lessons because christmas ahhhhhhh but we also had some busy days + amazing miracles !
Monday:
Pday! We made gingerbread houses and did a white elephant gift exchange with the district which was pretty fun. One of the elders got a barbie hehe. For proselytizing we had our church tour!...no one showed up...not even the members that said they be there lol it was disappointing but also kinda hilarious, lots of church tours have been falling through for lots of missionaries so we're not the only ones but WE'RE GONNA KEEP TRYING, while we waited for people I was able to practice the piano for a bit so that was pretty nice. We had a lesson with maxx and he's awesome! We talked about the promises we make when we're baptized and he's so ready he just needs to finished reading the b.o.m
Tuesday:
Weekly planning day! That tends to take up a bit of time. For pros we visited some part members familes and shared a few christmas messages. During lunch I made 70 cookies to give to our friends.
Wednesdays:
we went out with our lovely member, sister Huber and helped her finish up her Christmas treats to deliver to her neighbors. We visited quite of few of her neighbors this week and were able to share christmas messages with them...and got lots of food in return haha we had a lesson with our recent convert Teresa which went very well then we visited some more lovely members !
Thursday:
So apparently there's a general authority coming to the stake who wanted to visit some of our friends that we're teaching and some recent convers so we spent some time in the morning making a list for him with all the people he can visit + their contact info. We were able to visit some more part member familes and share a few christmas messages with them. Made some door contacts + dropped off some cookies to our friends!
Friday:
Our last district council for the transfer :'( made morrrre door contacts and had 4 lessons ! We met some awesome members and non members! We had another lesson with Lorena and she just got her temple recommended! She told us a very cool story about how a while ago when her and her son Kaleb where driving on the highway they saw a pretty building being built, kaleb told her that he wanted to go into that place, lorena agreed. Once they became members they figured out it was the Taylorsville temple and are super excited to go to the open house this next year! Kaleb told us "it's a dream come true" :') we also met with Stephanie on friday! This was a miracle because we haven't been able to get in contact with her for a while so we thought we'd have to drop her. Her lesson was so good and we talked about the gospel of Jesus christ. We moved her baptism date to January 6th since she woudnt be able to be baptized on Saturday. She also said she'd come to church on Sunday! Yay!
Saturday:
Today a few of the zones in the UT slcw mission got together at the mission office for our christmas devotional and it was SO MUCH FUN ! We ate breakfast first and heard some amazing musical numbers then played a few games and sung the 12 days of Christmas. After that we heard some christmas messages from some missionaries and sang some christmas hymns. President and sister Spencer gave some amazing messages and we heard some more musical numbers! After the devotional we met at Costco for lunch with some other missionaries and had some bomb pizza + ice cream. Then from 2-4 we did laundry, cleaned the apartment and went grocery shopping. Since Monday is Christmas they let us do all that on saturday. Me and sis lamphere also made $110 by being present in Walmart so that was super nice. We're definitely blessed, in the evening we went to a birthday party for Joseph smith hosted by a awesome member! He told about the first vision and we ate cake and hot cocoa it was a very cool experience. In the evening we knocked some more part member homes in hopes to find some new people! In our attempts we met Jackie! Jackie told us a bit about herself and her family. We shared a christmas message with her and also told her more about our beliefs especially the plan of salvation, she had lots of questions and we could tell she was looking for more direction and understanding in her life. We asked if she was interested in learning more about our beliefs and she said she was! We set up a time to go back on Tuesday! Yay! #newperson
Sunday:
Christmas eve! Went to 2 sacrament meetings and sang lots of christmas songs! Dropped of the rest of our cookies and had dinner at the wheelers home we had an amazing dinner and they gave us gifts! So sweet!
Today:
Will probably consist of baking, resting, ofc presents and hanging with the zone !
Spiritual moment:
Alma 7:9-12
9 But behold, the Spirit hath said this much unto me, saying: Cry unto this people, saying—Repent ye, and prepare the way of the Lord, and walk in his paths, which are straight; for behold, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and the Son of God cometh upon the face of the earth.
10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
Remember the true meaning of christmas and all the blessings you have in your life because of our savior Jesus christ and what he's done for you! ♡
