Missionary Christmas Experiences
good morning everyone! here are some of my top highlights from this past week ! :)
♡one of our recent convert friends named Teresa sometimes brings her friend Chrisbelle to church and activities as well, we finally got her address and stopped by on Monday to see if we could share a message with her! she said yes! we were able to share the message of the restoration and after she said she wanted to learn more yay! #newperson!
♡zone conference! best part of the transfer! for zone conference we focused a lot on the birth of our savior Jesus christ. we watched the christ child video a had a little testimony meeting about it which was a good spiritual experience for me. In addition to that we talked about how we can get more people to come to church because when people already come to church they're more likely to be baptized! President Spencer gave us a plan to hold church tours and invited neighborhoods and everyone to attend. The purpose of this is to help everyone be more comfortable attending church and to show them the inside of the church building. Our first one is tonight! Wish us luck!
♡on wednesday we attended the lakeridge 2nd ward youth activity. Their activity was on Miracle Cove and for those that don't know that's the street that's all decked out with Christmas lights, every. single. house. So many cars drive up and down that street every night to look at them. The activity was to collect food for the local high school food pantry. We brought little pass alongs and candy canes with church invitations and passed them all out to every car driving by. It was super fun!
♡on Friday we dedicated most of our proselytizing time to knock doors and invite people to our church tour. we were heading to this one house when my companion sister lamphere had the prompting to turn around and knock this one door. A sweet lady named Lorena opened the door and she was so glad we came by! She asked who told us to come visit her and we told her no one and that it was a prompting from the holy ghost! She told us that it was a sign from God and that she needed to go to church and told us lots of experiences that have happened in her life that were also "signs" that she needed to go church, she just didn't know which one! We were able to invite her to our church tour to show her around and she excitiedly accepted!
♡Jameson got baptized! And on his 9th birthday! He was so excited and ready to go! We're very happy for him!
spiritual moment:
At zone conference Sister Spencer introduced us to the 12 days of Christmas, study style. She made each companionship a paper chain and on each day had a specific topic for us to study during personal study, each a christlike attribute. Day 1 was a basic run down of all of them, day 2 was faith, day 3 was hope, day 4 was charity + love and day 5 ,today, was virtue!
On the first day we studied a talk called Becoming a disciple of our Lord Jesus christ by Elder Robert D Hales. He talked about the chrsitlike attributes and the importance of developing them especially in today's day in age he said, "The constipation of characteristics that result from faith in christ-are all necessary to our standing strong in the last days. As we earnestly strive to be true disciples of Jesus christ, these characteristics will be interwoven, added upon and interactively strengthened in us!"
I encourage you all to study this talk yourself! here's the link -> :)
Hope you all have had an awesome week talk to you next monday....on Christmas!
Sis laws :)
