Bikes & Snow

good morning and happy monday! :))

monday:
for pday we hung with the zone and played some volleyball and chair soccer. for pros we visited LOTS of contacts. we also had a lesson scheduled with our recent convert dallin but they never showed up:/ rip. scheduled lots of lessons for the upcoming week!

tuesday:
in the morning we visited a sweet lady and got lots of referalls to visit her neighbors. after a long day of weekly planning we went to visit another one of our recent converts named Lily. We ended up being about 15 minutes late because it was SO far away and we had to bike up a nasty hill. Next time we're finding a ride. it was ridiculous, but alas ! We made it and had a awesome lesson, her family is so cute.

story time:
So there was a door contact we made on tuesday that I'll never forget and I just have to share it with you all. Ok, so we knocked a door and a lady answered the door and said " who are you?" because I genuinely thought she was curious I responded with "oh we're the sister missionaries for the church of Jesus christ of Latter Day Saints" then she yelled at us with "you're not allowed to be at my house!" I responded with "oh. Sorry we didn't know-" (because we didn't). And she slammed the door. Very interesting. We put her on our do not contact list after that. We get rejections all the time but this one is for the books.

wednesday:
started the day of strong by doing service for a sweet lady we swept and mopped her house and got hot coca in return so it was a win win. Later we had Sister Evans mentoring session then a lesson with the Pritchett family! So a little backround-when I was here in the area about 4 months ago with Sister Heckert we taught Ayden and baptized her and now we're teaching her brother and grandma which is such a big deal compared to how receptive they were in the beginning. We had a pretty good lesson and invited them to be baptized they said they would think about it, please pray for Julie and trisitin!

thurday:
on thursday it started snowing.ew. some of you know I'm from somewhere where it hardly ever snows so I don't know how I feel about it yet. Anyway, in the morning we visited some cute grandma's and got to get to know them, I knew their extended family from my last area which was cool! then one of the friends that the missionaries used to teach was in the hospital and requested a priesthood blessing so we were able to go visit him, share a message, and he was able to get a blessing from some members from his ward. Please pray for Gilbert for speedy recovery. We had a lesson with Thomas who is another recent covert, you may also remember him from a few emails ago. We did his last lesson! Now he's all done which is exciting!

story time:
once we finished Thomas's lesson we went outside to grab our bikes to make a few contacts before our next lesson but my tire was all of a sudden flat. perfect. so instead, we walked home, pumped it up, and headed to our next lesson, once we got there is was flat again. the person we were supposed to meet wasn't even there. But luckily the members we invited were, and insisted on taking us home since it was cold and snowing a bit. When the member put our bikes in his mini van he noticed that my wheel was flat so we went back to their house so he could fix it. We hung out with the rest of his family + shared a message. Once he was done he ended up fixing the whole bike. Apparently there were a lot more things wrong with it then I thought haha. And now it runs much better! Miracle! Once that was done we decided to go to the church building that was 5 minutes away to check and see if there was a TV there for the zl's the next day. After biking for about 12 minutes I decided to check where in the world we were because we were not at the church yet. I ended up going the opposite direction by accident and went alllll the way to the other side of our area NOT where we were supposed to go (pic below). We weren't even in our area anymore. I felt so dumb but it brought laughs and memories for sure lol

friday:
Zone council! Sister evans and I gave a discussion on our purpose as missionaries and it went pretty well. After we all went to canes for lunch. I saw a guy we used to teach #awkward. Then we decided to go visit one of our recent converts named Erabelle. We finally met her a did a lesson! Miracle!

saturday:
We had 6 lessons today. First the Holmes  girls, they're so cute and ready to be baptized but are waiting for their dad to get the priesthood. Had a lesson with Rayshell and her girls and visited some members as well + shared messages. One of our favorite members is Grace, she is constantly helping us out and we really appreciate her, for dinner she took us to Cafe Rio since we wanted mexican food (lol) it was good! She then took us to visit one of her friends named Naomi and she gave us a referall!

sunday:
woke up to SO much snow there was no way we were riding our bikes to church so we walked and thankfully 5 min out, someone pulled over and gave us a ride!  we don't believe in stranger danger as missionaries hehe. We were able to go to 3 wards ️and saw lots of our friends and recent converts attend which was SUPER awesome! After, we had a lesson with Erabelle, then Grace and her husband picked us up and we went to their house for dinner, it was soooo good! After, we picked up Naomi and went to go visit her friend that she referred to us yesterday. Her friend Monica and her husband Andy are from Cambodia. We taught about the Atonment of Jesus Christ and the spirit was so strong! They want to come to church and read the book of mormon! We're excited to continue to meet with them! #newpeeps!

random:
-Sister evans both ran into a trash can and light pole this week. (I got permission to share)

spiritual moment:
I've decided that this year is going to be one of the best years of my life as I get to be a missionary the whole year of 2024. Our mission president told all of us to write down goals that we can do this year to help us be better missionaries. He said "we promise that as you set these goals, and genuinely strive to achieve them, you will experience growth and joy on your mission." Even though most of your arn't called to serve during this time I encourage you all to make goals this year that can help you be a better example of Jesus Christ ! That can help you grow and improve! Jesus Christ can bring light, happiness and peace into our lives and I know as we strive to become like him every day we will see those blessings in our own life! We will be able to find growth and joy! This is council I'm excited to apply even after my mission.

If you've read this far you're a real one

Hope you all are doing good! Miss and love yall!
