God Is Good

I know I say this pretty much every week but it's because it's true. It's been a crazy week.

On Monday one of the other sisters in our district did our nails and we had an amazing lesson with Mirari. She is so amazing. Last week we invited her to read 3 Nephi ch. 11 and she did! THREE times! We asked if she would want to be baptized and she said yes! We hope that she can be baptized soon because she is SO ready.

We have a few friends that we've been struggling to meet with, however this week we saw some amazing miracles and we're able to have 3 spontaneous lessons with those friends! ->

1.We were out prosing when we got a text from one of the mom's who's daughters were teaching asking If we could come by in 15 minutes. We zoomed over there and was able to have a fire lesson on the gospel of Jesus Christ, while occasionally being interrupted with giant hugs from their little brother (pic below)

2. That same day we were able to meet with Andy and Monica, it's hard to meet with them because they live in a different stake and we schedule lessons through their fellowshiper who we don't want to stress out. But we were able to teach the plan of salvation it was good because the spirit was definitely present, but we had to teach very simply because Monica has a hard time understanding English. Luckily their fellowshiper was able to find some members that speak Cambodian to help us next time.

3. Fernando! Fernando works a lot so it's hard to schedule lessons but we felt prompted to stop by one night and he and his wife were home! We taught the restoration and the spirit was so strong. I absolutely lovve teaching the message of the restoration.

On Wednesday we has zone conference! This conference felt a bit different as it felt more spiritual for me and I was able to receive great insight on how to help some of our friends. We learned a lot about how to introduce the Book of Mormon to our friends to be able to emphasize the importance of they Book of Mormon, since after all it is the keystone of our religion. We also talked about baptism and President also taught us how NOT to dress (it was geared more towards the Elders since "we always look perfect")

Story time:
After zone conference we went out to eat with our stl's then on our way home when we were sitting at a red light I noticed some sus behavior at a gas station. Basically, there were 2 boys skateboarding at the gas station when a white van pulled in almost running them over. A guy got out and started running after them as they ran across the street,  we debated what to do for a second then decided to drive after them, we pulled up next to them and asked them if they knew the guy. they said they didn't and that he was trying to kidnap them.  During this interaction we were driving really slow on the road. The white van was right behind us and we were clearly holding up traffic but we didn't care. We decided to call the police and then the white van swerved into oncoming traffic to go around us and pulled into another road. We parked behind him and got his license plate number and then he tried to get around us yet again (almost causing 2 accidents this whole process) we ended up losing the guy but saw the boys get into a family members car that they contacted and gave us a thumbs up so they ended up being okay. I dont know for sure but part of me thinks we might have helped them out a lot that day.

After that since we were kind of tRaUmTized ️we decide to go to a members house to do some family history which was really nice.

Spiritual Moment
On Saturday my testimony for the plan of salvation really helped me get through the day as I unexpectedly lost someone very special to me. I never thought I would have to go through something like this on my mission but I'm extremely grateful for the knowledge that I have about the plan of salvation and eternal families and that I will see her again. Sunday was just as difficult but I was able to see tender mercies from others at church even though they didn't know. I know God is aware of everything and everyone and it's especially important during the hard times to turn to him. I'm grateful for the atonement of Jesus christ and for the knowledge that no one is alone because he went through it all, he went through everything that we went through and everything that we will ever go through. I know that as you turn to your Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ in all that you go through that you will be able to receive blessings of peace and comfort.♡

I love you all,
Sis Laws :)
