Winter Storm Craziness

what's up!

This week was super crazy and I believe I experienced ALLL of the emotions. We had lots of snow storm warnings and storms following, I am super greatfull I'm not serving anywhere colder than here because I'm not sure I would survive haha everyone always laughs when they hear I'm from Southern New Mexico and follow with some sarcastic comment such as "oh so you're just loving this weather" hehe

We had lots of lessons planned this week which I was very excited about, however, at least 1/2 of them got canceled because of the weather or the sick bug going around. This was super frustrating but it wasn't really something we could prevent so I tried my best to stay positive about it

On the way to one of our lessons on Tuesday it started getting really windy them BOOM snow just came from no where. It was reaaly crazy and we had to walk in it, because HOWW would you expect me to bike in such crazy weather. It's a no from me.

But our members our awesome! There were multiple times this week where we were walking along in the freezing cold and we got invited into some members homes and got fed haha it was very nice, we're super blessed

Transfer interviews were also this week which is one of my favorite things each transfer and since President and Sister Spencer will complete their mission in July I really have to soak up all the council I get. Last Friday I think they announced our new mission president and his wife so that will be exciting as well :)

We did lots of service for sister roundy this week and she always sends us home with loads of food or other random stuff like puzzles or books. We also got barbie valentine cards from 1996 which I was very excited about. If you want one let me know!

Top miracles from this week! :

♡ A girl name Mirari self refered herself to the missionaries and we were able to meet with her on friday. She is the sweetest girl who's going through a very hard time and is looking for direction and truth in her life. I felt promted to share The Gospel of Jesus Christ for her first lesson which was not what I initially planned. The lesson went great and the spirit was so strong. We all shared our testimonies and how following the Gospel of Jesus Christ blessed us in our life and tears were shed. She understood everything and wants to go to church so bad however, her mom is very religious and won't lot her go to a different church. Please pray for Mirari's mom to soften her heart!

♡ We met with Emily and Karma for their weekly lesson and we talked about the doctorine of baptism and showed them the video of Jesus Christ being baptized. After that I felt like it was the perfect time to invited them to be baptized and follow Jesus Christ's example! They accepted and set their goal date for February 10th! We also invited them to go to church and they did! They also went to young womans and they loved it! We're super excited for them!

♡ We had a lesson with one of our recent converts, Annalisi and she is the sweetest ever. This was a miracle because for the last 3 transfers (including when I was here a few transfers ago) we literally could not get in contact with her. But we finally did! And we had a great lesson! They also fed us dinner and it was super good!

Spiritual Moment:
So far on my mission I've been learning a lot about how to hear the voice of the spirit and how he speaks personally to me. It's important that he's always with us especially as missionaries since he's the one that speaks to those we're teaching and he can confirm to them that what we're saying is true. The Holy Ghost guides us in our missionary work which can lead us to some amazing people and experiences.

D&C 100:5-8
5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;
6 For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
7 But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things.
8 And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say.

We shared these scriptures with a family this week and I loved the perspectives that were shared, the mom shared how sometimes she doesn't know how to help or what to say to her kids in certain situations but the Holy Ghost helps her and sometimes it's something that she wasn't expecting. The dad talked about how the holy ghost helps him in his efforts and a bishop and a therapist. And we related the scriptures back to missionary work. It was really neat to see how these scriptures can apply to evreyone no matter what!

That's all for today, I hope you all are doing well, update me ! :)))

Sis laws :)
