VIVA SOMOA!
Talofa and welcome back!
This past week was transfer week so a lot happened AND MIRACLES HAPPENED too (God is good)
On Tuesday was transfer day and we picked up our new missionary and AHHH i love her so much! Her name is Sister Faimanu and she is from Somoa (which is perfect since we cover 4 somoan wards) she's so sweet and awesome and already a killer missionary. She's going to be awesome. We've had lots of fun these past few days
So last transfer Sister Reidhead ordered some Marshallese things from Sister Hazard and it finally came in so we made a pit stop and their home while we were making a few contacts in that area. Sister Hazard was able to give my companion the things she ordered but also gave each of us a church guam (A guam is the type of dress the Marsh woman wear. It's like a really colorfull nightgown haha but they also have fancier ones for church) and shell braclets! She's so kind! We're gonna miss her
We also met Avery this week! When we whitewashed the area she's the friend they had on date for January 25th and she's solid! She's 11 and has the greatest desire to be baptized. Her mom and sister are also not members, but attend church every week so when we were over for a lesson with Avery we asked if they wanted to be baptized too. Mom said they do but they're not quite ready yet. We're excited for them and we hope that Avery's baptism service will bring more of a desire!
We actually had the craziest thing happen to us this past week. We were finishing up daily planning one night and we got a call from the elders in Holiday, UT. They told us how they've been teaching this young couple who's on date to be baptized on January 16th AND they just moved into our area so they'll be attending our ward ad will be getting baptized in our ward! Insane how these 2 friends just showed up out of no where and are 100% going to follow through and be baptized! (except we had to move their date to Feb 1st since they got covid and need some time to recover lol. But still!)
Okay yall know we've been teaching Summer for a while now. Since she had her baby it's been harder to have consistent lessons but one day we decided to just text her a specific time for us to come by just to check up on her and see how she was and she agreed! We met with her on Saturday and she talked about how she still wants to be baptized she just has some concerns with a few things. Summer is a very deep thinker and had a lot of deep doctorine questions and concerns for us but luckily we were able to address it all and she said she felt better about it by the end! Then she brought up a baptism goal date herself. With her family she decided on Febuary 8th! YAY and it's defiently going to happen this time, she says. We're so excited for her!
So we got a referall a few weeks ago from the releif society president of one of the wards about one of her friends named Luz who she though was just an inactive member but actually never got the chance to be baptized. We had a lesson with her and came to find out she's actually GOLDEN. She's been reading The Book of Mormon on her own and atteding church. We invited her to be baptized and she wasn't too sure so we invited her to pray about it AND SHE DID. Yesterday, during church we got a text from her telling us that she prayed and wants to be baptized and so does her 9 year old daughter! holy cow! YAY LUZ!
Sunday night we went out contacting and decided to visit a guy who was taught in the past. He wasnt home but we met Tee! Tee told us how he believes in Christ but isn't sure at all how to come closer to him but wants to. We were like "well, you found the right people!" We testified of our purpose as missionaries, faith and baptism and invited him to pray about what we taught and we set up a time to come back to visit him!
Crazy how many miracles can happen in just the span of 1 week. I LOVE IT

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Be an example no matter where you are or who your with! represent Christ and others will see His light within you!
Catch you next week!
